| christmas came late this year |
17 days till christmas.
how did that happen? we just came from boracay, bought tanya, took tanya to the electrician and mechanic, went to the office, spent weekends in cavite or bulacan, and now it's just 17 days till christmas. ang bilits ah.
i remember xty and i would plan our christmas list in advance, think 2 months in advance. we'd also buy a gift or two each time we went out. by the time christmas came around, we'd have gifts for everyone. a P50 gift would get as much thought (and love) and as much wrapping paper as the more expensive ones.
christmas is 17 days away and i have yet to buy a single gift. xty bought 5 rolls of wrapping paper and that's it. i pass by megamall everyday, and i haven't even hunted for gifts. i still haven't thought of the what to give people, or if i am to give gifts at all.
it could be because money is tight and it's always time to settle credit card bills, meralco, water, etc. it could also be because most of our friends are far away, and christmas and gift-giving are just not the same without them. or it could also be because christmas has lost its meaning and its magic.
whatever the reason, christmas has caught me off guard. and it's just 17 days away. kom ikabit na ang christmas lights, dali!!! |
